MORPETH returned north with all three points after a spirited and clinical performance at Prescot.
Goals from Rhys Evans and Nic Bollado were the difference, despite Cables having the better of possession overall.
Solid defending throughout from the Highwaymen proved crucial, defying numerous corners from the home team and conceding much territory but managing to limit clearcut chances.
Cables quickly exerted authority on the game from the kick-off and enjoyed a number of early corners and dead balls in dangerous areas.
