CONTROVERSY IN LINNETS VICTORY

CITY of Liverpool fell to a narrow defeat at home to Runcorn Linnets.
It was a game of few clear cut chances and the visitors went ahead after just three minute when Will Saxon broke clear and deftly lifted over Nick Michalski.
The Purps grew into the game with Elliott Morris and Danny Mitchley drawing good saves from Linnets keeper Bayleigh Passant.
After the break, Lomax Jones was denied by another solid stop from Passant, while Naim Arsan clipped the bar with a free kick for the visitors.
