CABLES MAKE CONNECTION AS TOWN THWARTED

THE points were shared at Hope Street as promotion-chasing Worksop were pinned back by a valiant effort from bottom-end Cables in a competitive and closely fought match.
After a brighter start for the visitors, it was Cables who took the lead on 16 minutes after a swift counter-attack saw Jack Goodwin find Ben Elliott with a clearance and the frontman did great work to beat two men and tee up Michael Carberry to fire into the far corner and make it 1-0.
