MICKLEOVER CAN’T DRAW ON A LATE SAFETY PUSH

A DRAW at Hebburn was not enough to save Mickleover from the drop.
In the ninth minute, a swift cross into the box from Joe Posthill found the flying foot of Joao Gomes, who instinctively slotted into the net from point-blank range to give Town the lead.
That early goal injected momentum into Hebburn’s play and their attacking co-ordination began to improve.
However, the 16th minute saw them reduced to ten men. Aaron Thompson received a straight red card after a reckless sliding tackle on Mickleover’s Will Atkinson.
