NINE-MAN Basford United were relegated despite sharing the spoils with Morpeth Town in an action-packed encounter.
It took 35 minutes for a chance of substance when Highwaymen forward Nic Bollado crossed to Luke James, who tried to glance the ball into the far corner with his foot but it flew narrowly wide.
The breakthrough came eight minutes later when Sam Hodgson received the ball in a pocket of space outside the box and had the time to curl the ball into the top corner.
