■MAX McCarthy’s brilliant goal from the halfway line was enough to give Congleton Town an away win at Bootle.
It was the same old story for Bootle as they created plenty of chances to take the lead in the first half but failed to capitalise on a single one. Joe Woolley, twice, and Courtney Duffus were among those denied by Congleton keeper Dave Parton.
