■BURY and Atherton Collieries drew a blank in a tight match with few real chances.
Atherton started brighter, as Harry Showman twice threatened – first ghosting in behind the Bury defence to force a fingertip save, then firing wide after pouncing
on a defensive error. Alex Doyle also saw a header comfortably held.
Bury improved after the break. Leo Graham and Kai Evans both created openings for Djavan Pedro, who couldn’t apply the finish. Evans then tried his luck, bending a shot just wide from the edge of the area.
