■ CONSETT were given a lesson in finishing by Pontefract.
The visitors went ahead when Joe Lumsden capitalised on a defensive error, then doubled their lead when Consett failed to clear Jack Greenhough’s long throw.
Marc Costello almost bundled in a corner to reduce the arrears, then Michael Coulson fired into the bottom corner to make it 3-0. Right on half-time Consett’s Liam Colledge hit the bar with a header.
