Shaun Tuck has had his Witton Albion contract terminated by mutual consent after making derogatory remarks on a social networking site.

SHAUN TUCK has had his Witton Albion contract terminated by mutual consent after making derogatory remarks on a social networking site.

The striker first landed himself in hot water for his use of social media earlier this year when he encouraged people to ‘bomb and gas every mosque in England’ following the murder of Lee Rigby in May.

He was subsequently jailed for 12 weeks and served six weeks of that sentence before being released.

Tuck was allowed back to Witton following his release but with specific conditions regarding his future conduct.

The frontman returned to match action last weekend and made an immediate impact – scoring an 87th-minute winner off the bench in a 1-0 success at home to King’s Lynn Town.

However, he aimed derogatory Facebook comments at FC United ahead of the two club’s meeting on Tuesday, which United won 3-1 – clearly breaching the conditions laid down upon his return.

Tuck has subsequently had his Witton deal cancelled and the club have since released a statement saying: “Witton Albion apologises unreservedly to the supporters, officials and players of FC United of Manchester for any offence caused by these remarks, and wishes Shaun Tuck every success in the future.”
