Gary Skentelbery has stepped down from his position as chairman of Warrington Town.

Warrington Town

GARY SKENTELBERY has stepped down from his position as chairman of Warrington Town.

Business commitments outside of football have led Skentelbery to relinquish his role in charge of the Wire in favour of a new role – director of community affairs.

Taking over as the club’s new chairman is Richard Sutton, who moves from his previous post of CEO.

Speaking about his resignation as chairman, Skentelbery said: “It has been an honour and privilege to be chairman of my home town football club but I need to focus on my own business commitments.

“I remain totally committed to the Warrington Town cause and a member of the board and I will continue to raise the profile of the club in the local community to the best of my ability.

“The club is in the best position it has ever been, flying high at the top of the league and hopefully will continue towards our ultimate goal of promotion at the end of the season.”
