FORMER Weston-super-Mare and Bath City boss Tony Ricketts has been named as the new manager of Paulton Rovers.

Ricketts was named as Rovers’ new chief after Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat to lower league Swindon Supermarine in the FA Trophy.

He replaces Richard Fey who resigned as manager last month after a slow start to the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier season.

Rovers are still yet to record a league victory, drawing six and losing ten of their 16 fixtures so far and they are already 13 points adrift of safety.

Ricketts will be assisted by player Aaron Brown who had been in caretaker charge at the Athletic Ground following Fey’s departure.

As well as his roles at Bath and Weston, Ricketts has also worked for the Gloucestershire FA as well as managing Bristol Rovers’ women’s team and the Gas’ U18s.

His first game in charge of Paulton will be Saturday’s trip to fellow strugglers Histon.
