BASHLEY doubled their points tally for the season on Saturday but still became the first club from Steps 1-4 to be relegated.

Bash, who picked up their first point after 27 games against Mangotsfield United in February, managed another goalless stalemate against Slimbridge but it wasn’t enough to take their battle against survival to another week.

The club have six games of the season left to try and get their first win on the board but their record of ten goals in 36 games suggests it may be a tough ask.

New Mills, who still have only one point to their name, are 23 points adrift of safety in the Evo-Stik NPL Division One North but can still mathematically stay up.

It would take a near miracle for the Millers to survive, however, with nine league games left to play.
