BARNSTAPLE showed a lot of endeavour in difficult conditions but ultimately were undone by two first-half goals for Evesham United.
Aaron Roberts and Matt Todd had early chances for the visitors but it was the hosts who had the best chance early on when Yohan Rutty-Smith fed Tornado Bello but his effort did not trouble the keeper.
Evesham struck on 26 minutes when Steve Oliver saved from Basford but Adam Page followed in to see the ball into the net.
