■ BARTON ran out winners after a nip and tuck game. The home side had a 39th-minute penalty saved as Rovers keeper Paddy Boylan guessed correctly and comfortably saved Lanrewaju Balogun’s spot-kick.
Barton then opened the scoring just before half-time when a Chris Regis shot was deflected into the net by Rovers’ impressive Temi Akenbusoye to give the visitors the lead.
Barton went on the front foot after the break and doubled the lead when Coree Wilson rounded a stranded keeper to slot home.
