BARNSTAPLE secured a welcome win after a couple of reversals by the odd goal in five.
Strikers Hawes and Thomas were causing the home defence problems, and it was Hawes who opened the scoring with a glancing header.
Barnstaple’s response was immediate when Baker, impressive on his debut. was brought down by Adams and Howe converted the penalty.
The home side were dominant at the start of the second half and took the lead when Montague converted from close range following a corner.
