■ FROME started the stronger with Mathew Smith striking the post then minutes later forcing a save from Lewis Adams when through on goal.
Adams then tipped a James Ollis effort over the bar.
The visitors finally got on the scoresheet when Joe O’Loughlin cut in from the left and fired past Adams from 20 yards.
Slimbridge almost got one back when Will Hawes’ shot was tipped over by James Carey.
