■ BEDFORD Town ended their league winning season on a high with a win at the Eyrie against Aylesbury United.
The Eagles had to come behind to do it, when an early goal for the visitors was scored by Jamie Rudd as he directed a shot through the crowded defence to nestle the ball in the bottom right hand corner.
Bedford came back with two goals from top scorer, Rene Howe, as he tapped in an equaliser midway through the half when Hugh Alban-Jones had his shot parried by Archie Davis, then hooked the eventual winner after 38 minutes.
