■ TORRENTIAL rain before and during Bedford’s meeting with AFC Dunstable forced the game to be abandoned at half-time.
A cloudburst 45 minutes before kick-off put the game in doubt but, despite standing water on the pitch, referee Jake Hillier put back the kick-off time back to 3.45pm to allow the ground staff a chance to work on the playing surface.
