FAVERSHAM Town stole the show to give VCD Athletic a tough opening day outing.
Charley Robertson nodded home early on, and the score was doubled just a minute later when Liam King countered brilliantly from a rare home attack.
Town began the second half strongly too, as King got his second via the inside of the post.
Desperate to get back into the game the hosts pushed forward, only for a long clearance to pick out Jordan Casey who fired home coolly.
