TAUNTON led from the seventh minute when Ryan Brett tapped in at the far post from Lewis Powell’s deflected shot and never looked back.
They were awarded a penalty with 37 minutes played when Liam Meredith clattered into Ross Staley just inside the box. However, Powell was denied as Harry Pickering dived low to his right to save the spot kick.
Taunton eventually doubled their lead on 48 minutes. Matt Wright looked to have fouled Pickering as a cross was played in and Staley was there for another far-post tap-in.
