■BASFORD United continued their march towards the title with this narrow victory. There was not a lot between the two sides in the first half, but Castle felt hard done by with some of the referee’s decisions. It was Basford who took the lead through Liam Hearn just after the half-hour when he fired across the Town keeper.
Three times, Hearn fired over but, with Castle still in the game, it took a second goal from the marksman to put his side in control. Castle did not throw in the towel, however, and kept the game alive when a cross from the right was headed home ...
