■STAMFORD made sure of their play-off place with victory.
Stamford started brightly but a rare attack from Cleethorpes produced an opening for Dan North but he blazed his shot over.
Jon Challinor then hit the post in a fairly quiet first half.
Cleethorpes were handed a massive opportunity to take the lead when a cross was adjudged to have hit Jake Duffy’s hand, North sized up the spot kick but Dan Haystead produced a easy save.
Stamford then brought Kieran Wells on and ten seconds later he scored.
