BERKHAMSTED stayed top of the table but were made to work hard for the points by Thame United.
Lewis Toomey scored twice in the first half before Max Farrelly added a second after the break.
But goals from Marcus Mealing and Lynton Goss at the end of each half for Thame meant that Berkhamsted could never really relax until the final whistle.
