WITH both sides fielding almost completely new sides, it was Beaconsfield, relegated from Step 3 in April, who edged this opening day battle.
The Rams dominated the first half but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal and the Woods were limited to just one Jordan Brown effort which was well saved by Ed Brearey in goal.
Beaconsfield then grabbed a goal in first-half stoppage-time as a low corner wasn’t cleared and skipper Ben Tricker tapped in at the far post.
