■ BRIDLINGTON Town got their first win in five league games as they beat Sherwood Colliery.
They broke the deadlock on the 30-minute mark when Alex Peterson flicked on for Charlie Winfield to volley home.
Bridlington’s last league victory came home to Dunston in mid-October, and they also went out of the East Riding Cup in midweek to Hull United, so they would have been relieved to see captain Simon Helsop double their lead in the 53rd minute with a simple finish.
