ATHERTON Collieries recorded an impressive victory on the road at Stalybridge to move five points clear of the relegation zone.
Kielen Adams opened the scoring after just four minutes, reacting first to a parried shot to slide the ball in.
The home side should have equalised on the half hour mark when Joe Duckworth fired against the crossbar from close range.
