EMLEY AFC kept up the pressure on the top two with a dominant win over Newton Aycliffe.
The breakthrough came in the 61st minute when Amir Berchil picked up the ball deep in his own half, embarked on a mazy run, and slotted past goalkeeper Tom Orton.
Emley doubled their lead in the 76th minute, with Luke Parkin converting a penalty after Berchil was fouled in the box. The decision came after Berchil had worked his way into a dangerous position, drawing a clumsy challenge from an Aycliffe defender.
