■ COVENTRY Sphinx made a winning start by beating division newcomers Mickleover.
Sphinx scored both goals in the first half and were comfortable in the second until a late sending off.
Matty Shipman fired into the bottom corner after Devonn O’Sullivan picked off a loose pass with 19 minutes played. O’Sullivan was instrumental again in the second, following up his own blocked shot to squeeze the ball through to Jac Redhead. The midfielder blasted home at the near post.
