■ IT WAS a one-way traffic for the hosts for the first 20 minutes, but Corby grew into the game, and it was a balanced contest by half-time.
Goalless after the first 45 minutes, Long Eaton had more chances, but Corby created the best chance thanks to Aaron Nuttall.
In the second half Corby were quick out of the traps and tested home keeper Lewis King with a couple of opportunities.
However, with the hosts playing a high line, the Steelmen sprang the offside trap, and Gary Stohrer ran through to score.
