THE wind was the real winner as Hassocks and Sheppey United shared two goals and two points.
Although the hosts set the pace, with Damien Theodore being particularly impressive down the right wing, it was Sheppey who broke the deadlock, Rolando Onu scoring after 17 minutes.
Joe Bull gave Sheppey a couple of nervous moments, going close with a long-range free-kick and setting up Rob Malila, who fired wide.
Fantastic defending by United at the start of the second half saw a barrage of shots from Hassocks all blocked.
