■ HENDON had to work very hard to overcome relegation-threatened Horndean.
Keagan Cole came closest to breaking the first-half deadlock, after 35 minutes, his effort coming off a post. Niko Muir tried to score on the rebound but couldn’t keep the ball down.
After the break, Cole looked the most likely scorer, going close twice.
Horndean looked rather punchless up front, the best chance falling to substitute Tommy Whitehead, but he fired into the side-netting. That apart, teenaged goalkeeper Frankie Beccles was rarely threatened. The dead...
