■ BRIXHAM began brightly, twice threatening an opener with Callum Rose striking the post before forcing the Marine goalkeeper into a sharp save.
But it was Marine who struck first on 28 minutes when Sal Abubakar was brought down in the box and confidently converting the penalty.
The visitors doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time – Tawana Changa charged down a clearance and the rebound broke perfectly for Sid Gbla, who rifled a superb strike in off the underside of the bar.
