EASTBOURNE were able to secure a narrow win against relegation-threatened Ashford in difficult conditions in East Sussex.
The game was tightly contested with little quality at either end.
But Nathan Hover was able to give Eastbourne the lead before the break with what turned out to be the winner.
With the goal advantage, the host were able to nullify any threat that the Kent opponents could muster and held on comfortably for the points.
