■ MARC Nash fell to defeat in his first game in charge of Blyth Spartans as his side narrowly lost to Brighouse Town at Croft Park.
There was a positive atmosphere around the ground with three new signings present too, hoping to turn the club’s season around.
However, the visitors took the lead just before the break with in-form winger Youssef Chentouf firing home from close range.
Brighouse defended well in the second half to limit Blyth to minimal chances, with captain Harvey Booth at the heart of their defence heading everything in his way.
