WALTHAM Abbey strengthened their push for a play-off place with a composed victory over fellow contenders Newmarket Town.
In a competitive clash, a goal in each half proved enough for Billy Holland’s side, who managed the game with growing authority.
Abbey started brightly, putting the Jockeys under pressure. After Abdirahman Mohamud rattled the woodwork, the visitors made their strong opening count.
Kai Brown reacted quickest inside the box to break the deadlock, giving Abbey a deserved lead.
