■ ASHINGTON helped their cause to get out of the relegation places with a vital away win.
The visitors should have taken the lead after 18 minutes but captain Karl Ross headed wide from point-blank range.
Lewis Smalley was then the hero for Lincoln with an incredible save to tip Liam Henderson’s effort over after 33 minutes.
Henderson did eventually give Ashington the lead after 57 minutes but that was cancelled out 13 minutes later when Karl Hutchinson-Wilkes latched onto the long ball and sent a powerful header into the net.
