MERSTHAM gave their play-off hopes a shot in the arm with a convincing away win at sorry Beckenham Town, who remain second bottom.
The Moatsiders got off to a dream start when Lee Lewis smashed in a brilliant opener in just the second minute.
Paris Hamilton-Downes was then left unmarked at a corner to plant a header into the bottom corner.
The hosts offered little in attack but got one back from a rare push forward when sub Joe Chalker finished in the 80th minute.
