■ VCD ATHLETIC boosted their hopes of beating the drop with a vital home win over Ashford United – with two goals in the final few minutes seeing the hosts triumph at Oakwood. Alfred Evans put the home side in front with 21 minutes left on the clock, only for his goal to then be cancelled out by an equaliser from Barry Fuller with ten minutes remaining.
