IN their first season at Step 4, a rampant AFC Portchester kept their play-off hopes alive with a comprehensive victory over nearest rivals Hayes and Yeading.
This game only took place after hard work from a team of volunteers, who were rewarded when the game was cleared for play half an hour before kick-off, but the decision was fully vindicated when the Royals blew away their west London opponents.
