■ SHEPPEY United made sure Horley Town’s introduction to Step 4 football would be a painful one, winning in comfortable fashion at The New Defence.
The Ites made light of the difficult dry and dusty surface and raced into a 2-0 lead before the midway point of the first half.
Danny Leonard broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, knocking the ball past Sam Saward.
Two minutes later, Saward was beaten again, this time by an effort from D’Jean Spencer, who got Sheppey’s third after 43 minutes.
