STUNNED chairman Jimmy Flanagan is praying an appeal to the FA will pay dividends after Barkingside suffered a shock 11thhour relegation.
Side finished a dismal campaign second from bottom in the Step 5 Essex Senior League, but were under the impression only the bottom side, in this case Leyton Athletic, would be demoted.
However, Flanagan received a ‘massive’ shock when he saw the FA’s National League System club allocations for 2019-20 last Saturday night. His club, who groundshare at Ilford, had been placed in the Step 6 Eastern Senior League South.
