It’s son, not ton, for Mick!

CLAPTON manager Micky Weatherall has quit the Essex Senior League club so he can help his goalkeeper son Oliver focus on developing his game.

The former Redbridge boss, who joined Clapton only in October, said: “It’s time to be my little man’s number one fan and give him every chance.

“I’ve always given the kids their opportunities and supported them even when they cost us at every club I’ve been at.

“It’s time for me to do the same for Oliver. He’s got the potential and he wants it so badly, trains hard every day. It’s time for me to be the man that backs him.”
