DAVE Roberts has previous when it comes to books centred on football as those who have read and enjoyed the likes of The Bromley Boys, 32 Programmes and Home and Away will testify. Now he’s scored another winner with his latest effort.
Back in 1968 as a 13-year-old, Roberts dreamed of seeing his beloved Bromley play at Wembley, like the club’s 1949 Amateur Cup team had done.
But we soon discover that, in the early years at least, Bromley had about as much chance of getting to Wembley as a three-legged horse had of winning the Grand National.
