JON PARKIN scored twice to keep up the pressure on National League leaders Cheltenham Town and ‘The Beast’ was rightly placed into our National League team of the day.
The striker netted both of Forest Green’s goals in the win over Eastleigh but the Robins remained four points clear at the top and James Rowe was included in our midfield.
FC Halifax Town shocked Grimsby Town, beating the Mariners 4-2, and manager Jim Harvey was named our Top Boss. Defenders James Bolton and Scott McManus were put into our back four, alongside Torquay’s Angus MacDonald and Gateshead’s Alex Whitmore.
Bromley saw off Woking 2-1 and keeper Alan Julian was named our keeper of the day while Wrexham’s Lee Fowler, Gateshead’s CJ Hamilton and Elliott Frear of Forest Green were the other players in our midfield five.
