NATIONAL LEAGUE newcomers Solihull Moors have signed Barnsley striker Harry White for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Solihull, made just two appearances for the Tykes in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy following his move from Gloucester City last September.

He had scored nine goals in 17 appearances for the Tigers in the Conference North and that was enough to persuade then-Barnsley boss Lee Johnson to swoop.

With playing time hard to come by at the League One promotion chasers, White spent time out on loan in Non-League’s top tier last season with Kidderminster Harriers and then Boreham Wood.

He scored fives times in a combined 14 games for the pair and will now get to test himself against the best Non-League has to offer after signing for hometown club Solihull.

The Moors led the National League North from start to finish last season and White becomes their third new addition of the summer, following the signings of keeper Nathan Vaughan and midfielder Jamey Osborne.

A club statement read: “Solihull Moors Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old Harry White from Championship side Barnsley Football Club, after agreeing a nominal fee for the striker.”
