Injury Forces Matt Wilson Back To Alfreton Town

Alfreton Town midfielder Matt Wilson has had his loan spell with Boston United cut short after being told he requires surgery.

A knee injury has forced Matt Wilson to return to Alfreton Town from his loan spell with Boston United.

Wilson, 25, joined the Pilgrims on a three-month loan deal in August but only featured in four matches for the Conference North club.

The former Darlington and Grantham midfielder has now found out he needs surgery to repair damage to his knee and has subsequently rejoined his parent club.

A statement on the Boston United website said: “United would like to thank the player for his service and wish him a full and speedy recovery from his impending operation.”
