The club, relegated from League Two last season, have started the campaign well and remain at the National League summit following the 3-1 victory.

Corey Whitely kicked off the scoring on Saturday and was named in our front three alongside Southport’s Jamie Allen and Andy Cook, who netted twice for Tranmere.

Ryan Clarke had an impressive debut for Eastleigh in their home victory over Sutton United and he was chosen as our keeper behind a back three of Aldershot’s Will Evans, Curtis Tilt of Wrexham and Dover’s Jamie Grimes.

Barrow moved up to third and Danny Livesey was put into our midfield four after he opened the scoring against York City, being joined by Liam Noble of Forest Green, Eastleigh’s Liam Coulson and Maidstone scorer Yemi Odubade.
