LIAM HURST has signed his first professional contract with Conference Premier club Cambridge United.
The teenage midfielder only has two senior appearances to his name, both of which came as a substitute, but has played regularly for CRC (Cambridge Recreational College) in the Eastern Counties League.
His pro deal runs until the June 2015 but his short-term future lies at Southern Premier League club Cambridge City, where he will spend a spell on loan.
U’s director of football Jez George commented: “Liam is a young player that we rate extremely highly.
“He fully deserves to be offered a professional contract at this time and we feel that we can now accelerate his development by allowing him to go out on loan.
