LUKE ALLEN has signed a one-year extension to his deal with Cambridge United.
The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on a season-long loan with Cambridge City and has being performing well for the Southern League Premier Division outfit.
Allen, a former Tottenham Hotspur, will now remain with United until the end of next season and says he hopes to break into the U’s first-team in 2013/14.
Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “I’m very pleased to have signed a new contract and really grateful for the opportunity to develop further next season.
“My loan at Cambridge City this season has given me the chance to play football regularly and provided the best opportunity for my long-term aim of getting into Cambridge United’s first team.”
