HAKAN HAYRETTIN has joined Luton Town as the club’s new first team coach.

Hayrettin vacates his job as manager of Grays Athletic to take up the role as part of John Still’s backroom staff at Kenilworth Road.

The 43-year-old led Grays to the Ryman League Division One North title last season – the crowning moment of a managerial career that has also seen him in charge at Thurrock and Waltham Forest.

Luton boss Still is pleased to have added Hayrettin to his backroom staff and told the club’s website: “Hakan used to play for me and has recently been managing at Grays.

“He’s a great lad and is very enthusiastic and in my mind it’s the right time to bring him to Luton Town.

“He’s got a fantastic work ethic and is really ambitious – in fact he wants my job! I have nothing wrong with that, I want ambitious people around me and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
